Low income residents have been calling the Coronado Apartments their home, but now the historic building is up for sale.

The Downtown Development Corporation owns the building and says their isn't enough funding to renovate it. The buiding has been housing the elderly and disabled for nearly 15 years.

DDC has agreed to help with moving expenses to move residents out by providing them vouchers in June of 2010.

Advocates for the residents are urging the Mayor and City Council to order DDC to sell the Coronado to a buyer who's willing to keep it as low income housing.

The deadline for potential buyers is November 24. The listed price for the historic building is $670,000.
