TUCSON - Want to escape the heat and soak in some culture this weekend? Our Arts and Culture Guy, Herb Stratford has an idea, plus if you don't have plans tonight, get out your 80's gear!
Is it hot enough out for you? Well, there's a great place to go to escape the heat and see some amazing things right under your nose, the Arizona State Museum on the UA campus.
This summer there are special programs for kids at the museum and best of all, kids under 17 get free admission. The museum is home to an amazing collection of items from our state's past with art, culture and history all sharing space, make an effort to visit the museum while the students are gone and the air conditioning is cold.
There's still time to check out an exhibition of great photographs at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Entitled "First Impressions" the work is by Howard Paley, and is on display through July 17. The JCC is located at River Road and Alvernon.
80's pop fans will not want to miss tonight's show at the AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol featuring the Go-Go's and the B-52's. With an impressive list of hits between them these groups will most likely have the audience on their feet all night long.
