TUCSON - A Bowie, Arizona man has been sentenced in connection with possession of firearms.

Tapia plead guilty in June 2010 to one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, after agents from the ATF and the United States Border Patrol seized 17 firearms from Tapia's residence in Bowie.

Inside the residence, agents located 17 firearms, including an AK-47 and a sawed- off shotgun with obliterated serial numbers. The AK-47 had 24 rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber. Tapia, according to authorities, is a multiple-convicted felon with at least six prior felony convictions.
