TUCSON - Convicted child killer, Frank Jarvis Atwood has been denied his request for a new sentencing. He's been on death row since 1987, for the 1984 murder of 8 year old Vicki Lynne Hoskinson in Tucson.
Atwood argued, back in October, that he didn't get adequate representation at his sentencing. He said his attorney should have told the jury that he suffered from post traumatic stress disorder, after years of adolescent drug and sex abuse. Today, Kristi's Kids learned, the federal judge has denied his claim.
Vicki Lynne's sister, Stephanie Hoskinson-Brandt tells Kristi's Kids "we are confident that everyone involved in this case, through the years, has done what they're supposed to do and that Frank Atwood is guilty of murdering my sister. He should be put to death. He does have the right to appeal, so we're not out of the woods, but I think we can look forward to an execution in the near future."
