Work continues on Interstate 10 widening project near Casa Grande
As crews continue work on widening I-10 in Pinal County, drivers should be aware of the following restrictions:
• Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane between Earley and Val Vista roads from 7 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday (July 13) for lane shift.
• Eastbound I-10 on-ramp at McCartney Road closed up to four hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday (July 13) for paving. DETOUR: Travel west on I-10 to State Route 387 (Pinal Avenue) for access to eastbound I-10.
• Eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Florence Boulevard closed up to four hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday (July 16) for paving.

GRANT ROAD / ORACLE ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
On Monday, July 16, 2012, work will begin on improvements to the Grant Road and Oracle Road Intersection. During the first phase of the intersection improvement project, crews from Falcone Brothers & Associates, Inc., under contract to the Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will remove the median islands on Grant Road. Intersection work will also include the installation of temporary traffic signals. Traffic will be restricted to two lanes in each direction. Crews will be working from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The project is scheduled to be complete in July 2013.
Please use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in the work area. Please obey all traffic control devices and water for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
The $7.5 million RTA-Funded project will widen Grant Road to six lanes from 15th Avenue to Castro Street, with median island right-turn lane modifications along Oracle Road from Alturas Street south to Rillito Street. As part of the roadway widening, the intersection of Grant Road and Oracle road will be reconstructed to provide indirect left turn intersection operations.
FINAL PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION SABINO CANYON ROAD/TANQUE VERDE ROAD INTERSECTION
Beginning Monday, July 16, 2012, crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin milling, crack-sealing, and paving the intersection improvement area. The milling and paving work will be done at night. Crews will be working from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Crack-sealing work will be done during the daytime hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Business access will be maintained at all times.
Once paving is completed crews will adjust the water valve covers and manhole covers flush with the new asphalt. During this work, concrete will be poured around the covers and barricades will be in place for 24 hours to allow the concrete to cure.
This phase of the project is expected to take approximately three weeks. This is the last phase of construction. Substantial completion is scheduled for the end of July.

Guardrail work on eastbound Interstate 10 east of Houghton in Tucson Friday
The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the left lane on eastbound I-10, just east of Houghton Road at milepost 277.9, in Tucson, from 7 a.m. to noon Friday (July 13) for guardrail repair.
The schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, availability of materials, and mechanical difficulties. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through or near work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
Guardrail repairs continue next week on westbound Interstate 10 in Texas Canyon
Lane restrictions will be in effect much of next week on westbound Interstate 10 in the Texas Canyon area of Cochise County where guardrail repairs are being made.
The work is part of an Arizona Department of Transportation project to resurface 14 miles of westbound I-10 between Johnson Road (Exit 322) and the east side of Benson.
ADOT has scheduled the following closures:
• Monday, July 16, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed for approximately one mile beginning a mile west of Dragoon Road (Exit 318).
• Tuesday, July 17, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed at milepost 317.
• Wednesday, July 18, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed near milepost 316.
• Thursday, July 19, the right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed at milepost 311, approximately one mile west of Sibyl Road.
The closures are scheduled to be in place each of those days from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Message boards will notify approaching motorists of the lane restrictions and the posted speed limit through the closure areas will be reduced to 55 mph.
