Pavement preservation work scheduled on State Route 77 in Pinal County
The Arizona Department of Transportation will intermittently close sections of State Routes 77 and 79 and US 60 in Pinal County during the next two months to apply oil to rejuvenate and preserve the roadway surface.
The roadway will be closed in one direction at a time from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Alternating traffic will be directed through the work zone by construction crews using a pilot vehicle. The work is scheduled next week as follows:
Tuesday (May 8) and Wednesday (May 9)
• Northbound and southbound SR 77, just east of Oracle Junction, will be intermittently closed
for approximately two miles from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crews will be on site to direct traffic and message boards will guide drivers through the area.
Drivers should expect up to 10 minute delays.
Lane closures scheduled along Interstate 10 east of Tucson Tuesday and Wednesday
The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the left lanes of Interstate 10 east of Tucson near Cienega Creek (between mileposts 288 and 290) on Tuesday (May 8) and Wednesday (May 9) to clear overgrown vegetation in the median.
• From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (May 8), the left lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed.
• From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (May 9), the left lane of westbound I-10 will be closed.
Drivers can expect delays of up to five minutes.
