TUCSON - Saturday, August 25, 2012, Cochise county residents will be able to have their yard waste picked up for free on "Free Dump Day".

Cochise County City Managers agreed on a "Free Dump Day," a day each year where the Transfer Stations provide free dumping service for residents. Free Dump Day will provide residents with an opportunity to clean up their yards, garage, or alley without having to pay the hauling fee to remove the waste.

There are a few restrictions to Free Dump Day: it is a resident-only event and it is only free for non-commercial, business or construction waste. Commercial, construction and business debris will be charged the regular $52 per ton fee.

Paper recyclables, Number 1 & Number 2 plastic jugs/ bottles, cell phones, computer components and other electronic waste will also be accepted.
