SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. - A recent crackdown operation lead police to cite seven businesses for selling alcohol to minors.
It was part of the Covert Underage Buying operation or C.U.B.S.
Fifty Cochise County area businesses were selected for the August 8th operation based on previous enforcement of liquor violations, complaints from citizens and other factors.
Ten teens between the ages of 16 and 19 volunteered to help in the operation. The volunteers carried their own state issued IDs clearly indicating they were under 21 years of age.
The businesses cited for selling alcohol to minors include: Fry's Food Store and Shell Gas Station, both in Sierra Vista; Western Junction Bar & Grill in McNeal; Ray's Restaurant and Sunset Saloon in Huachuca City; Loves and Arena Bar, both in Benson.
Four businesses that sold alcohol to a minor during the June operation did not sell this time.
