Closing in on a record hot June

TUCSON - Record high temperatures are hard to break at Tucson during mid-June.

Nine out of ten of Tucson's hottest days ever were recorded in June - all well above 110.

Despite the Old Pueblo not reaching 110 yet this year, all 19 days of the month have been at or above 100 degrees.

This persistent heat has Tucson less than 1/10th of a degree away from breaking the record for the all-time hottest June.

Breezy Southwest winds have scoured out our moisture and the monsoon rains are far away from Southeast Arizona.

According to Meteorologist Matt Brode, some changes can be expected over the next several days as high pressure tries to set-up closer to the four corners.

If this occurs, we can expect better storm chances as we make our way toward the weekend in Cochise County, and possibly even Tucson by early next week.
