TUCSON - Classic rock n roll from some of the greats, and some of the best *free* entertainment around Southern Arizona.
Herb Stratford has it all in this week's Arts and Culture segment.
The final show in Broadway In Tucson's 2012-2013 Season is on stage at the Tucson Music Hall is weekend. "The Million Dollar Quartet" tells the story of a one-time gathering of superstars in 1956.
The Tony Award-winning musical takes a look at the legendary recording session that had Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis all in a Memphis recording studio. Packed with classic rock and roll hits, the show is a blast and runs through May 12.
The University of Arizona's annual student film showcase, "I Dream In Widescreen" will again unspool at the Fox Tucson Theatre on Saturday May 11. The event is the presentation of final student films, and has 8 different short films in a variety of genres from sci-fi to comedy to drama. Come check out what the next generation of filmmakers are up to at this free event.
A free, Tuesday night musical showcase entitled "The El Con Club Jazz Series" features performances by local Jazz performers, workshops and student performances. The shows are free, and will take place every Tuesday evenings through October from 7-10 pm. The club is located at Randolph Golf Course on Alvernon across from the Doubletree Hotel.
