PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a city worker who was filling potholes has been critically injured after being hit by a car in west Phoenix.
Phoenix police say the man was struck shortly after noon Monday near Pecos Road and 17th Street.
They say the city employee was outside of the work truck filling potholes when he was struck by the car.
The woman who was driving the car also was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The names of the injured man and woman aren't immediately available.
Police say they are investigating the cause of the accident.
