TUCSON- On Saturday the Tucson Children's Museum is hosting a free day for all children. It comes thanks to a donor who anonymously paid the admission fee for every child that day, to honor the memory of the Sandy Hook shooting victims.
It's a commemoration of the January 8th tragedy as well. News 4 is partnering with Pima Federal Credit Union to put a huge banner at the entrance to the museum. Children will be encouraged to sign it, along with their parents, sending their thoughts and well wishes to the children and all of the community of Newtown, Connecticut. Then that banner will be Fed-Exed to Newtown to arrive on Tuesday, January 8.
Guests will receive a ribbon, asking them to pay it forward in thanks to the anonymous donor putting on the event. The main event is called "Together We Move!" where kids and their families will celebrate health and wellness.
"We are going to have a jumping castle we are going to have a rock climbing wall. We are going to have a preview of our new early education program called Wee Wiggle. So kids four and under are getting physically fit and doing fun activities outdoors, an obstacle course. So it's really about enjoying the great outdoors. It is going to be perfect weather."
You can come sign the special banner this Saturday, from noon until four. A portion of 6th Avenue will be closed off for the events. It's a perfect opportunity to spend time with family and remember how precious life is.
