Child locked in car

MARANA, Ariz. - A 1-year-old girl was left alone, locked in a vehicle at a shopping center on West Ina Road Saturday.

Sgt. Chris Warren with Marana Police say a bystander called 911 after seeing the girl looking hot and sweaty in the car with the windows slightly down.

Before police arrived, the bystander managed to get the toddler out by unlocking the door.

Northwest Firefighters examined the girl.

She did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Sgt. Warren said the child was in the car for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Her father came out later from a store.

Sgt. Warren says they are notifying Child Protective Service.
