Tucson - Motorists are being screened at a checkpoint near Redington Pass. 'Operation Game Thief' is a joint effort by the U.S. Forest Service and Arizona Game and Fish Department.

By midday 120 motorists passed through the checkpoint.

Game and Fish cited one hunter for illegally taking a deer, and one Off-Highway Vehicle operator for failure to display a license plate.

In addition, the U.S. Forest Service took one man into custody on an outstanding warrant.

The Game and Fish Operation Game Thief program has fielded 650 reports of wildlife violations this year statewide.

There were more than 800 violations reported in 2011.
