BISBEE, Ariz. - The Bisbee Police Department plans to pursue criminal charges against a motorcyclist connected to an officer-involved shooting.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, there was an active order of protection against the man.
A woman called Bisbee Police for help Tuesday, saying he followed her on a motorcycle.
Police saw him following her and they attempted to make a traffic stop.
Investigators say he then sped up 80 to 100 miles per hour in the Warren residential area before turning south on Airport Road then to Bisbee Junction before turning back west on Purdy Lane.
Investigators say he continued to travel on Purdy across Naco Highway at before going onto the dirt portion of the roadway and stopping.
The motorcyclist then turned the bike around and headed back towards Bisbee Officers who were stopped on the roadway.
He then headed towards a Bisbee Police Officer who was standing outside the passenger side of his vehicle.
Investigators say the Officer fired two rounds at him as he came directly towards the officer.
The motorcyclist continued travelling east crossing onto Naco Highway before heading south towards Newell and the Golf Course.
The motorcyclist then dropped the bike and ran to a house on Geisler in Naco.
The home owner called 9-1-1.
The man was taken to University Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and released.
