Census officials say if for any reason you have not received your census form, you can call the questionnaire assistance center at the phone number 918 - 1813.

TUCSON - April 1st is National Census Day, which means the form you got in the mail last month is now officially due. Census officials have been tracking if Southern Arizonans are filling out their forms, and how we stack up to the rest of the country.

"What does it mean to not be counted? It means your tax money went to Scottsdale," David Taylor with the Pima Association of Governments said.

Overall, Southern Arizonans are right on track when it comes to filling out the forms. Arizona is at a 52 percent response rate, compared to 54 percent nationally. But local census officials say there are some areas that stand out, where folks are beating the national average.

"Oro Valley, local community here in Southern Arizona, leads all cities and towns in participation rate," Taylor said. "Sahuarita and Marana are very close behind them."

In some parts of Tucson, it is a different story. Take the midtown neighborhoods near Oracle Rd. and Stone. Right now, response rates are at about 36 percent.

If you are procrastinating too, you can get a little extension. But if it is not done when May rolls around, expect a census taker to come knocking on your door.
