(NBC NEWS) - A Florida hospital was reduced to rubble in less than ten seconds early Sunday morning.
Ormond Memorial Hospital provided service for more than 40 years.
A new facility opened a few months ago, and the empty building was no longer needed.
A series of controlled detonations collapsed the supporting columns, and the seven-story structure came down exactly as planned.
The implosion was held Sunday morning to avoid disrupting traffic and nearby businesses.
