TUCSON--Fans hoping to root on the Arizona Wildcats this weekend had better already have a ticket. Less than 800 remain for Saturday's Oregon-Arizona football game.
The Cats host No. 11 Oregon against Arizona in a game with ramifications for the conference championship. If Oregon wins, its drive to the Rose Bowl gets one step closer. If Arizona wins, it retains a chance for a co-championship and the berth in Pasadena.
ESPN officials today confirmed the location for the set of College GameDay. The Saturday nationally-renowned football program will air from 8 to 10 a.m. Tucson time from a stage on the Mall in front of the UA Student Union Memorial, with Old Main as the backdrop.
Normally the Arizona ticket office sells several thousdand tickets to walk-up buyers on Saturdays, but James L. Francis III, associate athletics director for marketing, said that is not likely this week. "We encourage people to buy online tonight or early Thursday."
