CASA GRANDE, AZ - Casa Grande Police are investigating a homicide.
Around 8:15 pm Saturday, Casa Grande Police Department patrol officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of E. Laurel Pl. after police received a call from a woman stating that her roommate had been assaulted in their home.
Upon arrival, Officers found the body of 43-year-old Shirley Vipperman.
Police say Vipperman had received severe blunt force trauma injuries to her head and face.
An investigation led police to 20-year-old James Marshall Longe.
Officers located Longe at this mother's home on E. First St. and he was taken into custody without incident. Evidence of his involvement in the homicide was found at the residence.
Longe made admissions of his involvement in Vipperman's homicide and he was booked into the Pinal County Sheriff's Jail on charges of First Degree Murder.
