CASA GRANDE - Casa Grande Union High School athletes have been left in the dark after thousands of feet of copper wire were stolen from the school's athletic fields.
The wire was also clipped from light poles and ripped out of the ground over the weekend. Principal Edna Morris says that wire was stolen from the football field, the practice soccer field and the softball fields.
Adjustors will be at the school Wednesday to assess the estimated damage. Nightly sports practice has already been affected by the loss of light.
