Carson Middle School lockdown lifted

TUCSON - The lockdown at Carson Middle School has been lifted and the student who was spotted with a gun found, police said.

The school was put on a lockdown Friday morning when a driver saw a group of students passing around what appeared to be a gun, TUSD officials said.

Safety officers and Tucson Police officers swept the area to find the student and a pellet gun. A tip from a student led police to find the gun in an 8th grader's backpack, TUSD officials said.

TUSD is currently interviewing the student.
