TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two people suffered critical injuries after a car collided with a light-rail train in Tempe near the Loop 101 freeway.
Tempe police say the crash occurred near Apache Boulevard and Price Road at about 11:35 a.m. Thursday.
They say the train hit the driver's side of a sedan.
Tempe Fire Department crews extricated two people from the sedan. Their names haven't been released but police say the two have been transported to a Tempe hospital.
Police say traffic restrictions have been lifted and light-rail trains have resumed normal operations on the Tempe route.
