TUCSON - A broken gas line on Cherry between 1st and 2nd streets has been repaired.
According to Southwest Gas spokeswoman Libby Howell, they discovered the leak in a 4-inch main via their surveying system.
They were notified about the leak at 9 a.m. and had the gas turned off at 10:40 a.m.
The leak was repaired by 2:30 p.m.
During the leak, fourteen people were evacuated from a nearby classroom.
