Campers find skull near Green Valley

GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - A spooky discovery on Halloween night near Green Valley.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office said a group of campers found a "bleached white" human skull about 6 p.m. Saturday.

No other bones were found. Deputies said they think the skull had been out in the desert for some time and most likely belonged to an illegal immigrant.

Because of the rough terrain requiring a four-wheel-drive vehicle, a search and rescue team had to return the next day in the daylight to locate the skull.

The Border Patrol has found more than 200 bodies of suspected illegal immigrants in the Tucson Sector Since October 2008.
