PHOENIX (AP) - Yavapai County businessman Buz Mills is now officially in the race for the Republican nomination for Arizona governor, launching his campaign with nearly $2.1 million of his own contributions.
The Secretary of State's Office said Mills' campaign on Wednesday filed papers converting Mills' previous exploratory committee to an official candidacy.
Mills enters a GOP primary race that already includes Gov. Jan Brewer, State Treasurer Dean Martin and Tucson attorney John Munger, a former state Republican Party chairman.
Democratic Attorney General Terry Goddard declared his candidacy on Friday.
Mills' campaign manager, Camilla Strongin, says Mills' legal name is Owen Buz Mills but he goes by Buz Mills.
