As people were sleeping, robbers were creeping inside some homes on the Northeast side.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating multiple burglaries that occurred in the Sabino Canyon and Cloud areas just days ago.

One victim was ripped off early Wednesday morning. He shows Detective Phil Santucci, some tire tracks the suspects left behind.

"Looks like they were right here; they may have backed up when they were leaving."

The victim says he left his truck unlocked, he says they got into his truck and used his garage door opener.

The burglars found a weapon in one vehicle, but they never made it inside the house. The victim says he had his alarm on. The homeowner says several guns were stolen from his truck.

Det. Santucci is working the case and at least three other similar cases all occurring November 10th and November 11th.

As sheriff's deputies were at one house taking the report, they got a call of another burglary that occurred. Apparently, in that case, the burglars went inside the house with the people sleeping and took the woman's purse and stole her car.

"Burglars are opportunists and will look for unlocked doors, unlocked or open windows or pet doors," says Det. Santucci.

This concerns neighbors, so they're taking precautions not to be victims.

Marguerite Brown says, "We have a complete alarm system, we have deadbolts, we have a dog, we have cameras, and we have motion detectors."

Most important she locks her doors including her car even if it's inside the garage.
