Brown Fire update: Better mapping shows fewer acres burned

SIERRA VISTA - Infrared flights over the Brown Fire burning near Sierra Vista show the fire has charred 240 acres. Estimates earlier in the week put the fire at 350 acres since sparking Sunday.

The fire Incident Commander, Clay Templin, says high winds didn't cause any issues for the fire crews Wednesday. Firefighters were able to continue building fire lines in the rugged terrain of the Huachuca Mountains.

Right now the fire is at 0% containment.

More Hot Shot crews will be brought in Thursday morning to battle the fire.

Anyone with questions regarding the fire can call the fire hotline, 1-800-288-3861.
