TUCSON - Breezy conditions return for Father's Day afternoon.
As the tail end of an upper level disturbance moves through northern Arizona we'll see another round of afternoon winds. Gusts in Tucson may reach 30mph with stronger winds expected south and east of the metro.
Temperatures will remain near average today with a forecast high of 102 degrees under mostly sunny skies to round out the weekend.
A series of disturbances will pass by to our north for the week ahead keeping afternoon breezes elevated but temperatures in check. Highs this week will remain between 98-103 degrees under generally sunny skies.
Monsoon 2014 officially starts today with southern Arizona remaining dry as deep moisture stays stuck south of the border. Some of that moisture may creep up near the Arizona-Mexico border on Tuesday afternoon for a couple of isolated mountain storms in the far southeast corner of the state.
