TUCSON - Yesterday, Border Patrol agents in Southern Arizona seized $265,000 worth of marijuana and arrested six suspected smugglers, and rescued a Mexican man from the desert.
Ajo Station agents working on ATVs prevented a smuggling attempt near Why, Arizona yesterday, with the assistance of two Customs and Border Protection helicopters, according to a release from CBP. Agents arrested six people and seized 10 bundles of marijuana weighing 520 pounds.
Agents from the Tucson Sector working near Arivaca encountered a 34-year-old man from Chiapas, Mexico yesterday, the release states. He showed signs of possible dehydration and was complaining of chest pain. A Border Patrol EMT and Arivaca Fire and Rescue rendered aid, and the man was transported to a Tucson hospital for treatment. Following his release, he will be processed for removal from the country.
