NOGALES, Ariz. - Less than a week after Customs and Border Protection officers seized $1.15 million worth of methamphetamine at the border, officers found another $150,000 worth of meth hidden inside a vehicle this weekend.
Officers referred 41-year-old Castulo Chavez Cecena of Cibuta, Sonora, Mexico, for additional questioning and a vehicle search as he attempted to enter the U.S. Saturday, according to a news release from CBP.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle's oil pan, where officers found a package of meth weighing nearly 10 pounds.
The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure, and Cecena was turned over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
