TUCSON - During this time of year, the events keep coming in Tucson! Next month is the Tucson Festival of Books at the University of Arizona. The event brings authors, publishers and the reading public together in one place.
Volunteer co-chair Bimi Huebner stopped by the News 4 Tucson studios today to talk about the festival.
Net proceeds from the event go to promote literacy programs in Southern Arizona. The event will host over 200 exhibits, and over 100,000 people are expected to attend.
Organizers suggest arriving at least 10 minutes early to each venue to ensure seats are available. Seating in each venue is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking on the U of A campus is free on the dates of the Festival. All garages and surface lots are free except the Second Street Garage, which is reserved for authors and moderators.
The 2012 Tucson Festival of Books will be held:
•Saturday, March 10, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
•Sunday, March 11, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
