DOUGLAS, Ariz.- The Douglas Port of Entry was temporarily closed early Sunday morning, after officials received a credible bomb threat.
According to Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, Port Administrators requested the assistance of the Cochise County Sheriff's around 2:15 Sunday morning, after a female reported that a vehicle with a bomb under the backseat, would be travelling into the United States through the port.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Bomb Squad, along with the Pima County Bomb Squad, responded to assist.
According to Capas, a 2005 Nissan Altima occupied by a male, female and their children arrived at the port. The port was shutdown as a precaution while bomb technicians checked the vehicle for anything suspicious.
Bomb technicians did not find any suspicious devices and the port was re-opened around 4:20 Sunday morning.
