TUCSON - A body has been found in the desert southwest of Tucson, along with evidence of gunfire - Pima County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are investigating.

At about 9:30 a.m. today, Pima County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call reporting a human body had been found near San Jaoquin and Milky Way, near the Tucson Saguaro Estates neighborhood, according to a news release from PCSD.

Sheriff's deputies responded and found a dead man in an advanced stage of decomposition, face down in the desert. In the vicinity of the body, deputies found evidence of gunfire, the release states.

The incident is being treated as a suspicious death, and the investigation by Homicide detectives continues.
