TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man on murder charges after finding a body in the Pantano Wash Tuesday.
Michael Donald Norris, 49, is charged with the first degree murder of 51-year-old Debra Ann Scotko, Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom Peine said in a release.
Tucson Police responded to a call about a body being found in the wash and later handed off the case to Sheriffs due to it being in their jurisdiction, a release detailed.
The investigation yielded a description of a man last seen with Scotko, which prompted a search of the area. Deputies found a suspect matching the description right before air and K9 patrols arrived, Peine said in a release.
The investigation continues, Peine said, and anyone with additional information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
