Big week of events, little weather worries

TUCSON - Chamber of commerce weather for everything going on in the Old Pueblo.

A couple areas of high pressure dictate the weather this week, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The first high pressure system steers a California cold front away from the state this afternoon, leaving us with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 60's. Winds today will be out of the northwest at 5-10 MPH, much calmer than 24 hours ago.

As the week progresses, a strong area of high pressure anchors itself off the California coast. Daytime highs climb into the low 70's by mid-week, with mid 70's for the weekend. Abundant sunshine looks to dominate the southern Arizona skies the next 7 days.
