NOGALES - Thousands of dollars in cash won't be heading to Mexico, afterall.
A Mexican national was trying to cross the border through the DeConcini Port on April 16 when his truck was selected for an inspection.
A canine with Customs and Border Protection alerted officers to the presence of illegal contraband.
Officers found stacks of cash, $90,000 in all, hidden underneath the front seat.
Cesar Olea Vazquez, 34, was taken into custody, now facing bulk cash smuggling charges. His Ford truck and the cash were seized.
