Benefit concert begins at 6 p.m. tonight

TUCSON - The benefit concert for the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding is tonight at the Tucson Convention Center - performers include: Jackson Browne, Alice Cooper, David Crosby and Graham Nash, Ozomatli and Calexico.

The fund, established by Ron Barber, a survivor of the January 8 shooting and a Giffords staffer, will support individuals and families affected by the shooting, and will help promote civility and respect in public discourse, schools and the community. The fund will also go towards increasing awareness of mental health symptoms, treatment and prevention services.

The concert will feature speakers including Ron Barber, Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and Lea Marquez Peterson, president of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Other performers scheduled for the concert include Sam Moore, Nils Lofgren, Keb' Mo', Jerry Riopelle and Dar Williams. Jackson Browne and Alice Cooper partnered with Danny Zelisko to put together the line-up of musicians.

The concert is today, Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.
