TUCSON - Northwest Fire responded to a bee attack on Tuesday evening, which left six victims with stings.
The attack happened at a pool near Ina and La Cholla, home to the Saguaro Aquatics Program.
A 38-year-old instructor was stung multiple times in the head and face. All of the victims were treated at the scene.
Northwest Fire was able to track the large swarm to a nearby tree stump and used firefighting foam to remove the hive. There was a previous attempt to seal up the hive's entrance, but the bees were able to construct a new entrance over time.
This is the third large swarm response for Northwest Fire this spring, but the only incident where there were multiple victims.
