TUCSON - Mother Nature scores a touchdown for the opening night of Arizona football.
After highs peak in the 100's for the 59th time this year, Meteorologist Jeff Beamish expects temperatures dropping in the low 90's by the 7:30 PM kickoff. Sunny skies are on tap for this afternoon, giving way to clear skies tonight.
High pressure near the southern California coast continues to draw in drier air this weekend, eliminating the thunder threat. Sunshine and triple digit heat is in store for tomorrow through Labor Day.
Models indicate some Monsoon moisture bubbling up from the south the middle of next week. Tucson may see a slight chance of isolated storms by Thursday, with highs remaining in the 100's.
