TUCSON - Ballet, jazz and classic rock. You can find it all in Tucson this weekend. Our Arts & Culture Guy Herb Stratford tells you where, plus has a look at what's showing in theaters.
Ballet Tucson's annual fundraiser 'Dance and Desert' will take place April 5-6-7 at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre on the University of Arizona campus.
The event, a Tucson tradition for the past 16 years, pairs dance and desert tastings from top local restaurants. Both new dance works and audience favorites will be presented again this year and with proceedes going to the company, it's a great way to support Ballet Tucson, which concludes it's 27th season with this event. The Tucson Symphony will pay homage to the rock band 'Queen' with a performance on Friday night at the Fox Tucson Theatre. The performance will feature Symphony members, the TSO chorus and Jeans 'n Classics who performed with the symphony for their 'Music of the Eagles' and Michael Jackson shows earlier this season. The show starts at 8 pm.
Famed trumpet player Chris Botti will be on stage at Centennial Hall as part of UApresents season on Sunday, April 7 at 7 pm. Botti, the largest selling Jazz instrumental artists of all time, has won numerous Grammy's for his work and has performed with some of the top names in the business. Don't miss a chance to see him in person this weekend.

In the much-anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. 'Evil Dead' stars Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez.
Universal Pictures will release Steven Spielberg's groundbreaking classic 'Jurassic Park' in 3D. With his remastering of the epic into a state-of-the-art 3D format, Spielberg introduces the three-time Academy Award®-winning blockbuster to a new generation of moviegoers and allows longtime fans to experience the world he envisioned in a way that was unimaginable during the film's original release.
Starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Attenborough, the film is based on the novel by Michael Crichton.
