TUCSON - A potentially dangerous situation involving a child and a barricaded man was averted overnight.
Tucson Police Dept. received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance near Glenn and 1st Ave, a man and woman were apparently fighting in the street and it became physical.
When police officers showed up, the man, identified as 23-year-old Anthony Richardson, barricaded himself inside a home with a baby. He refused to come out and after about 30 minutes, hostage negotiators were brought to the scene.
Both Richardson and the child were brought out of the home safely by 2:45 a.m.
Richardson was arrested on charges of being a prohibited possessor of weapons. Child Protective Services took custody of the child.
