PHOENIX - Arizona lawmakers have granted Governor Jan Brewer's wish, approving her requested emergency spending bill for C.P.S.
Once signed by the Governor, the bill will free up more than $6.8 million dollars for 192 new, full-time C.P.S workers.

More funding, to create a new agency to handle child abuse and neglect, has been requested in the Governor's FY 2015 budget. Lawmakers still haven't addressed the budget, but there are signs it won't pass so easily.
State Senator, Steve Farley tells Kristi's Kids, he's very concerned that Governor Brewer wants $25 million to move the new agency into a new building, with new technology. Instead, Farley says, preventative programs, like child care subsidies, should be funded. There was no mention of preventative programs in the Governor's budget proposal.
