MONTREAL (AP) - A U.S. citizen convicted of child molestation has been captured in Canada after a decade on the run.

Canada Border Services Agency said in a statement Wednesday that Steven Dyer is wanted in Arizona. After failing to show up for a court appearance in 2002, he was convicted of 13 counts of child molestation and faces a minimum sentence of 169 years in prison.

The agency says he assumed the identity of a Canadian citizen and was living in Vancouver.

Border services agents learned that Dyer was outside Canada and they arrested him as he passed through Montreal's Trudeau airport on Tuesday night. He now faces deportation proceedings.

Dyer had been featured on an episode of the U.S. television show "America's Most Wanted."
