WACO, TX - An Army private who became a Muslim at age 17 has been sentenced to two life terms plus additional time in prison for plotting to kill other troops outside Fort Hood in Texas.
A defiant Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo sat alone in the court to hear the verdict. With his hands shackled and a white cloth secured over his mouth and neck, Abdo vowed to never end what he considers his holy war against U.S. forces.
Abdo was convicted in May of six charges. He was AWOL from Fort Campbell, Ky., when he was arrested with bomb-making materials last summer at a motel near Fort Hood.
