TUCSON - Record heat to start the new work week.
Under partly cloudy skies, highs reach the mid 80's this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. These temps are 16-18° above average and will likely break the record high on this date of 83° (set in 2004).
Today would mark the third straight day of record heat, after tying/breaking record temps this weekend.
High pressure retreats to the south as the week goes on, allowing a cold front to clip the northern part of Arizona Wednesday. Highs drop into the 70's for Tucson the mid to latter portion of the week, with gusty winds possible Wednesday afternoon.
