PHOENIX - An Arizona State University student has pleaded guilty for his role in a drug manufacturing operation near the Tempe campus.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 20-year-old Kevin Kimes pleaded guilty Thursday to solicitation to commit dangerous drugs for sale and solicitation to possess chemicals and equipment to manufacture drugs.
His sentencing is scheduled for June 10.
Authorities say a Dec. 4 a traffic stop led to the discovery of the drug operation at a Tempe apartment.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say 30 pounds of material used in the manufacture of ecstasy were found along with a pill press that had a motor.
One of the five people arrested pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and has been sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation.
