TUCSON - Got plans for the weekend? How about a live concert, or a photography exhibit?
Our Arts and Culture Guy, Herb Stratford, has the details.
The "Friday Night Live" Main Gate music series has just two more scheduled concerts this season. Saturday night "Annon & The Late Show" will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Featuring smooth R & B and Blues akin to Carlos Santana, the band has four members and performs both covers and original numbers. The concert is free and open to the public and takes place at the Geronimo's Plaza at University and Euclid.
The Tohono Chul Park is hosting a photography exhibit entitled "Parks In Focus: Student Artwork from the Udall Foundation" through September 29. The show features work by aspiring student artists from the Tucson Boys and Girls clubs who worked to document and explore the beauty of the park in photographs.
Another summer concert of note is set to take place at the Casino Del Sol Ava Amphitheater on Sunday, August 4. The double bill features Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is sure to be a near full-house due to the popularity of both acts.
