TUCSON - Artwork, comedy and a concert. There's something for everyone this weekend in the Old Pueblo. Our Arts & Culture Guy, Herb Stratford, gives us a preview.
A new exhibit entitled 'Unwound' at the Drawing Studio highlights the work of the Fiber Artists of Southern Arizona. The show features 10 artists who are pushing the boundaries of the medium in new and exciting ways.
The exhibit features artwork in both traditional fiber styles as well as pieces in a more contemporary mixed-media style, and is on display through April 27 at the gallery, located at 33 South 6th Avenue from 12 noon to 4pm Tuesdays through Saturday.
The Invisible Theatre's final play of the season 'The Fox on the Fairway' is on stage at their space, on First Avenue and Drachman through May 5. The play is a madcap romp through a golf course with more than water and sand traps to worry about during a golf tournament. The comedy is a Tucson premiere written by Ken Ludwig and promises to end the 2012-2013 season with laughs galore.
The Arizona Repertory Singers will present a concert entitled 'Moments in Time', their final of season on two occasions at different locations around Tucson. The program will take place April 21 and 28th and will feature a program of works by Verdi, Wagner, Britten and Greig. For specific concert locations and times visit ARSingers.org.
