TUCSON - The Tucson Pima Arts Council has been aggressively seeking additional funding after the city recently cut their budget by 30 percent.

TPAC has formed a partnership with the art organization called the Kresge Foundation of Troy, Michigan. The foundation awarded TPAC $200,000 over the next two years.

TPAC will award the money to artists, historians, neighborhood associations and youth groups. The money will be awarded based on how residents use art and culture as a tool to address issues in the community.

The deadline to apply is April 9, 2010 by 5 p.m.
