TOLLESON, Ariz. (AP) - Firefighters who put out a blaze in a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building in Tolleson say they suspect it was caused by arson.
The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/NKzwcS) says firefighters responded to the church near 95th Avenue and Pierce Street around 2:15 a.m. Friday after a neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from some vents.
Fire Chief George Good says crews were getting the fire under control when a spark in the attic reignited it.
They were able to contain the fire at 6:30 a.m. They say half of the church's structure was destroyed.
Fire investigators say the fire appears suspicious but are continuing to investigate.
